NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. --

The Key Spouses Program is a base organization whose main objective is to take care of 914th Air Refueling Wing Reservists’ families when they’re deployed.

“We bridge the gap between the military and the community,” says Key Spouse Chairperson, Betsy Russell. Military spouses can reach out to Key Spouses for support when their family member is deployed. It’s the Key Spouse’s duty to direct them and help them get the answers they need.

Russell has been a member of the Key Spouses program for 13 years. She was inspired to become involved with the organization after reaching out to a member during one of her husband’s deployments.

“It gave me peace of mind that I had the answers I needed to help take care of my son,” said Russell.

Anyone who is the spouse of a 914th ARW Reservist can become a member of the Key Spouses Program. Those interested would be required to attend training to become certified to work with service members and their families. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a member of the 914th ARW Key Spouses Program, please contact Betsy Russell at 716-236-3074 to sign up for training.

The Key Spouses Program will be conducting training at the Airman and Family Readiness Center, located in the base chapel, on Sunday, April 8, 2018, from 1000-1500. Lunch will be provided.
