NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. -- Parking details for the 2015 Thunder of Niagara Air Show slated for July 18 & 19 here have been finalized.

Gates will open at 9:00 AM both days with free parking available on-base.  Base officials anticipate large numbers of spectators to attend this FREE event.

In anticipation of large crowds, two satellite parking locations with shuttle service to and from the base will be provided to help reduce traffic on the main roads adjacent to the base.  Both parking and shuttle service at these locations is free.

The two satellite lots are the Vantage Business Park on Inducon Drive off Lockport Road east of the base, and the NFTA Lot #3 located on Niagara Falls Blvd (across from the Bell Aircraft Plant) to the south of the base. The access for the NFTA Lot #3 is via the Cayuga Drive Extension entrance.

The Niagara County SPCA will also have parking spots available for a small donation which will directly benefit the SPCA. They are located right next to the main gate on Lockport Road. Tickets are available pre-sale through their website or available each day of the event.  In addition, there may be other businesses surrounding the base that will be offering off-base parking for a small donation.

Vehicle gate access for on-base parking is as follows:  general admission vehicles will use the Walmore Rd and Tuscarora Rd gates.  Motorcycles should enter through either the Walmore or Lockport Rd gates with hardened parking provided.   Handicapped parking with valid permit will be available on-base and entry will be through the Lockport Rd entrance gate.

Residents and travelers should be advised that Walmore Road adjacent to the base will be closed to vehicle traffic on Friday, July 17, from 1:30 PM until 3:15 PM and on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19 from 3 PM until 4:45 PM while the USAF Thunderbirds perform.
