Farewell for now

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION N.Y. -- Eight years have come and gone very quickly. As I leave the 914th Airlift Wing, I leave with many fond memories.

When traveling around the command, I would often brag that Niagara is a special place; and there's only one reason for that--the people.

My assignment here has been the best for me both professionally and personally.

As a Chief, it's awarded me the opportunity to lead a talented bunch of professionals who each manage benchmark programs within their professions. Working through their road blocks and sharing in their successes, I've grown as both a person and leader.

As for the association between the 914th and 107th Airlift Wings, although it was short, we've added another chapter to our grand history of success. You made it work, when all the rest said the opposite. Take great pride in your ability to work as a team, when the odds are stacked against you.

I have been blessed throughout my life as well as my career, and my time here at Niagara was particularly special. While often working in an operations tempo that was for many years at an unprecedented rate, maintenance was always performed at an outstanding level.

The members of the maintenance group are some of the most dedicated and loyal people I've ever had the chance to work with in my 28 years of service.

To the rest of the Niagara family, thank you so much for supporting me as both a senior maintenance manager and command chief.

I hope to be able to visit from time to time over holiday breaks to see my family and the awesome unit I leave behind.

Thanks, and Godspeed to all.
