Dress and appearance is everyone's responsibility

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. -- It is every Airman's responsibility to enforce AFI 36-2903, Dress and Personal Appearance.

The following are some common items to be watchful for:

When wearing the green beanie hat or watch cap, an outer garment (i.e. green fleece and/or APECS) must be worn.

Boot laces should be tucked in.

Males should not have their hair touching their ears and a mustache should not go past the vertical line drawn from the end of the lips.

For females, hair should not touch the bottom of the collar in the front or the back.

Hair dye that is faddish is not authorized.

When wearing the ABU fleece an ABU blouse must be worn underneath it.  The wear of the fleece garment over a t-shirt is not authorized.

Be aware that when walking and talking on a cell phone that all proper customs and courtesies are still required.

Eating and walking in uniform is not authorized.

Placing eyeglasses on the top of your head while walking in uniform is against regulations.

Glasses should also be conservative in nature.
