A South Buffalo street is littered with abandoned vehicles and snow at the intersection of Tifft Street and South Park Avenue on November 20, 2014. Impossible to drive even with four wheel drive vehicles, snowmobiles in some cases substituted for ambulances during a lake effect snow storm that brought close to 8 feet of snow in three days. Members of the 914th EOD, along with personnel from the 914th Security Forces Squadron participated in the day-long exercise which combined the unique expeditionary combat skills of each squadron and allowed members the opportunity to observe the other’s practices and procedures. Tech. Sgt. Kyle Spalding 914th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Squadron training NCOIC patrols for mock improvised explosive devices during a joint exercise with the 914th Security Forces Squadron, at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station N.Y. on November 1, 2014. The training activities simulated a 914th SFS vehicle convoy moving through a deployed location. Personnel encountered various threats which required EOD to intervene to perform removal procedures.

Commanders and First Sergeants serve lunch to members of the 914th Airlift Wing at the 914 Force Support Squadron Dining Facility on November 1, 2014. Wing leadership was participating in a tradition by serving the "Annual Holiday Meal" to say thank you to the personnel of the 914th AW "for a job well done." The holiday meals are very popular and the Dining Hall staff typically serves between 600 - 700 meals during the two-hour time period.

A ceiling sensor controls lighting in 914th Airlift Wing Headquarters, at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. Sensors like this are all around the installation, turning on for people entering an area, and switching off when no movement is sensed, saving the U.S. Air Force money on electricity. Lt. Col. Joseph D. Janik (right) assumes command of the 914th Operations Group at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, Oct. 4, 2014. Prior to commanding the 914th Operations Group, Janik served around the world as an enlisted Airman and commissioned officer in numerous duties. He previously served at NFARS in 1992 with the 328th Airlift Squadron as a C-130 Flight Engineer. After commissioning, he served here in various capacities as a C-130 pilot and as chief of standards and evaluations.
