Honoring our veterans

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. --

Several members of the Air Force Reserve's 914th Airlift Wing, and the Air National Guard's 107th Attack Wing participated in a Veterans Day program honoring residents of The Elderwood at Wheatfield (N.Y.) assisted living community on November 11.

The Niagara Airmen assisted Elderwood in presenting certificates to the veterans living within the community and thanking them for their service.  A total of 39 veterans were recognized and with their families in attendance for this special program.

The term “Veteran” describes a person who served in the land, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released from the service under general or honorable conditions.

There are more than 25 million veterans in the United States.
