Commander, dentist, inspires

914th Airlift Wing dentist, Maj. Stanley Michel is back from Haiti to share his experience of working as a dentist alongside his partner--who he considers to be one of his greatest inspirations, his commander Col. Victor Brown. This is Brown's 30th trip to Haiti and he says every time is just as rewarding as the last. Technical Sergeant Lucas Morrow has the story.

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. -- For more than 20 years, Col. Victor Brown, dentist, and commander of the 914th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, has made annual humanitarian missions to Haiti. As part of a team of dentists, "Doc" Brown treats more than 100 Haitian patients daily in less than optimal conditions. This selflessness has inspired another dentist, Maj. Stanley Michel, also of the 914 ASTS, to volunteer his time in Haiti. Michel, whose parents are both from Haiti, felt compelled to give back to the poorest nation in the Americas.
