Firefighters train for real-world emergencies
On Monday, July 10, 2017, members from seven other air force installations met here for a week long firefighter training course. The training focused on firefighter fire ground survival skills and involved individual, as well as partner, lifesaving techniques.The first iteration of the course was a 10 day, computer-based training held at Fairchild

The 914th Airlift Wing's Lieutenant Brian Nosbich was named the 2016 Air Force Reserve Command Civilian Firefighter of the Year. Nosbich was recognized as a result of his instructing hundreds of military and civilians every year.

914th Airlift Wing's Assistant Fire Chief Joe Foucha visited Edward Town Middle School, Wheatfield N.Y. April 20, 2017 and taught students there CPR. This annual program is in it's 5th year and teaches 300 students per year basic CPR skills.
