Cole was nominated to become an Airman for a Day, part of the Stone's Buddies Oishei Children's Hospital program in Buffalo. About four times a year one child from the program is chosen and gets to meet some of Niagara's Reserve Citizen Airmen and given a grand tour of the air base. The tour included the base fire department, riding in one of the crash rescue trucks and operating its water cannon.
