The Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station Honor Guard performed a flag folding ceremony for family members of U.S. Army Sergeant Nathan A. Golllnitz in the Buffalo Military Entrance Processing Station located at the Niagara Falls, Air Reserve Station, N.Y.

Sgt. Gollnitz  was killed by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan on September 26th of this year. Despite suffering an injury where the vehicle he was riding in was destroyed by an IED in Afghanistan prior to his death he continued to go on missions. A true soldier to the end.

He also served a tour of duty in Iraq and prior to his service in the Army, he served 5 years in the U.S. Navy.

Sgt. Gollnitz was one of many young men and women who processed through the Buffalo MEPS on their way to start their military career. Family members were on hand to observe the ceremony which honored their loved one and included a room dedication.
