Civic leaders visit Dobbins ARB

Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, NY. -- Area leaders are given a tour of Dobbins Air Reserve Base and theLockheed Martin facility as part of the 914th Airlift Wings civic leader program. The first day of the tour gave them the opportunity to see the manufacturing of a C-130 and the retrofit of aC-5 aircraft. The visit concluded with a tour of Dobbins ARB and was highlighted with the opportunity to pilot a C-130 aircraft simulator.

Civic leader trips increase awareness of how the Air Force Reserve contributes to the total force and the importance of the 914th Airlift Wing to the local economy. It enables the base to continue a strong working relationship with the western New York community. These leaders represent some of the most influential leaders in the community and have a profound impact on our unit's acceptance and on the ability to recruit and retain reservists.

This trip also gave 914th aircrew members a chance to complete numerous semi-annual requirements as well as pilot proficiency training.
