The 914th Airlift Wing Recruiting Office earned multiple awards at the Air Force Recruiting Command's annual training workshop banquet October 27, at the National Conference Center in Leesburg, Va.

Niagara's Air Force Reserve recruiters were awarded both individual and group honors highlighting a very successful year.

The 914th office received the Top Operating Location award for the first half of Fiscal Year 2011 from the Northern Recruiting Squadron and the Superior Performance Award from the Reserve Recruiting Command.

Individual honors went to Tech. Sgt. Jacob Miller who earned the Northern Recruiting Squadron NCO of the Year Award and who also received the coveted AFRC Century Club Award sports jacket for achieving 150% of his yearly goal.

"The Century Club Award is the highest award a recruiter can receive," said Senior Master Sgt. Robert Denehy, 914 AW Senior Recruiter.

The Niagara office also earned 2nd Place in the Get One Now program for their 56 referral accessions. Get One Now is a program whereby unit members can refer their friends and family to the Air Force Reserve and in return are eligible for prizes once a referral enlists.

"Of our 166 total accessions last fiscal year, 1/3 of our gains were Get One's - that's enormous," said Denehy. "It means the program is working."

An additional honor bestowed upon Tech. Sgt. Miller during the workshop was his selection to the commander's invitational dinner held prior to the banquet. Out of more than 450 recruiters, only 12 are selected for this honor. Attendees are hand-picked by their squadron commander to attend this dinner based upon qualities that exemplify an outstanding recruiter.

"It was an honor to be selected," said Miller. "It felt like a real accomplishment and it was gratifying to know that all the hard work I had done was noticed by my commander."
