Talks the Talk and Runs the Walk

Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, NY --  914th Airlift Wing Fitness Monitor Lt. Col. Maria McElroy "Talks the Talk and Runs the Walk" as she competed in the Marine Corps Marathon, October 20, 2011. This annual race known as the "The People's Marathon" brings together runners from all walks of life to participate in a patriotic race. The traditional Marine Corps Marathon course is 26.2 miles.

The race typically occurs a few weeks before the United States Marine Corps birthday on November 10. The Marine Corps Marathon is known as "The People's Marathon" because it is open to all runners ages 14 and above and is the largest marathon not to offer prize money.
