Navy admiral gives thanks to reservists, kudos to NFARS

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. --  U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Robin L. Graf, the commander of Navy Recruiting Command was here at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station today speaking to her fellow Naval Reservists on many different issues.

The Admiral thanked the sailors from around western New York.

"I had the opportunity to travel to the Naval Operations Support Center, a reserve center in Buffalo, where I addressed nearly 100 Navy reservists during their drill weekend and thank them for all they do...it was an honor," said Graf.

A reservist herself, Graf elaborated on how she understands the juggling act reservists, regardless of branch, have to accomplish in order for the reserves and service to be successful.

Despite the constant time management reservists face with their family, civilian job and military career Naval leadership only had positive things to say about the Reserve.

"I think they are absolutely top-notch," said Graf. "They are trained and they are ready."

"I will tell you this, without reservists, there is no Navy," said Force Master Chief Petty Officer Earl S. Gray. "You remove the reserve element from the Navy; we couldn't do what we do."

The Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station played a very large part in the leadership connecting with the rank and file sailors.

The Admiral was very thankful that she could utilize NFARS and all the amenities on the station. She went on to say that the facilities were outstanding for what she came here to do. The Admiral also participated in formation running with her troops on the roads and track of the base.

"I appreciated the opportunity to come here and talk to the recruiters and sailors as well as be on this beautiful base," said Graf. "This base is a gem. It's been a real pleasure to come here and I'm going to come back."
