Employers' support receives thanks

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. -- Two Air Force reservists returning from the war gave their employers a very special "thank you" present today at the Edward Rath Building in downtown Buffalo, June 27.

Master Sgt. Bill Geary and Tech. Sgt. Mike Sluberski, of the 328th Airlift Squadron, both Erie County employees presented Erie County Executive Chris Collins and Director of Purchasing Ms. Bridget Corcoran folded flags that flew in combat over southwest Asia as a token of thanks for their employers' support during the Sergeants' deployment.

Receiving the flag was much more powerful than expected, said Ms. Corcoran. I don't' take this flag or his sacrifice lightly.

"All of Erie County extends deep appreciation to these two brave men, and all our local military personnel, for their service to our country," said Mr. Collins. "It brings the sacrifice of military service home when a colleague is deployed. Mike and Bill made Erie County proud, and we are grateful to have them home safe."
