914th Operations homecoming

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION -- Airmen from 107th and 914th Airlift Wings arrived at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station on Monday, May 16, 2011 from a four-month deployment to an undisclosed location in southwest Asia.

The servicemembers from the 914th Operations, Maintenance and Logistics group came home to a fanfare of family, friends and other Niagara Airmen at the installation.

Staff Sgt. Paul Knight from Dover Air Force Base Del. had the opportunity to deploy with the Niagara Falls Units.

This was my first time serving with Niagara and it was great, said Sergeant Knight, an operational resource manager with the 326th Airlift Squadron. They were a great bunch, they took care of me the whole time and I received some excellent training from them stateside and in the area of responsibility.

Senior Airman Anthony Maddox an avionics and guidance control technician from the 914th Maintenance Groups said that the deployment was a good time, even with the extreme heat, doing what aircraft maintainers do best.

We primarily worked on our planes in 115, 120 degree heat, turning airplanes, Airman Maddox said. It was a great experience, but it's good to be home.

Since the terrorist attacks of September 11th 2001, the 107th and 914th have been mobilized multiple times to serve in the Global War On Terror
