914th Airman cited as AFRC Junior Officer of the Year Published Nov. 17, 2010 By Senior Airman Andrew Caya 914th Airlift Wing Public Affairs NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION ,N.Y. -- A 914th Airlift Wing Officer recently earned a prominent Air Force Reserve Command award. Capt Jessica Pisano Commander of the 914th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, here at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, N.Y. earned the 2010 Reserve officers Association Junior Officer of the Year Award. Pisano, 29, said, "The most important job is the one you are doing right now." However, she modestly inferred that it wasn't just her work ethic that helped her achieve this award. "It was very humbling [earning this award]" said Pisano. "I Have great people that I work for and great people who work for me." said Pisano. "When the Unit does great, the commander looks great." Lt. Col. Kelvin McElroy Commander of the 914th Maintenance Group was very pleased about the fact one of his officers was selected for this commendation. It's a great feeling knowing she earned this award, McElroy said. McElroy elaborated that Pisano's aptitude for her job was reflected in the award. "She has a multitude of skills, attention to detail and a strategic outlook on things; all of which really are assets for [the Maintenance Group] to move forward," he said. "It is an outstanding achievement on her behalf. [Pisano ] earning this award speaks volumes about her."
