Friends help create memorial

Niagar Falls Air Reserve Station --  Friends from the 914th and 107th Airlift Wing's along with Cub Scout Pack 833 out of Adams Fire Hall in Wheatfield, helped in establishing a memorial flag pole and plaque in honor of Army Spc. Alan Dikcis. Volunteers did all the work from securing a flag pole to installing the brick work, lights and memorial plaque. Among the volunteers was Dikcis's younger brother Cub Scout Pack 833 member Robert Dikcis. Dikcis's Father Mr. Robert Dikcis expressed his gratitude to all that helped saying "Thanks to all of your gracious donations we now have something that will forever be cherished by our family." Mr. Dikcis also added "We are thankful to all of you for honoring the memory of our son Spc. Alan N. Dikcis." Dikcis was a vehicle mechanic with the 630th Engineer Company, 7th Engineer Battalion with plans to become a helicopter mechanic. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
