Chief Master Sgt. Steven M. Larwood, command chief of 22nd Air Force, Headquartered at Dobbins Air Reserve Base, GA speaks to 914th Airlift Wing Tech. Sgts and Staff Sgts during the first Enlisted Force Workshop at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, Niagara Falls, N.Y.

The Enlisted Force Workshop was held to educate Airman on the benefits and responsibilities of their rank and service.

"This training was very informative to me," said 914th Airlift Wing Photographer Staff Sgt. Joseph McKee. "I really think more training like this will result in better communication between the ranks."

Larwood, one of many speakers during the two-day training said "This workshop is targeted to E-5 and E6 due to the uniqueness of their position in the ranks."

He went on to say that the junior noncommissioned officers need to be able to communicate up and down the chain of command.

Larwood added the program was developed "because "We were forced to
find these types of communication skills elsewhere on the base we were on through different NCOs and mentors" said Larwood. "They weren't always reliable [communication skills]. However, this training here is deliberate and reliable."
