Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station hosts HAZMAT training

The Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station hosted a hazardous material training course for Active Duty Airmen, Reservists and Guardsmen from all over the country July 26 through August 1. After seven days of classroom lectures and field training exercises, the 35 Airman that attended the training received their HAZMAT technician's certificates which mean the Airmen can enter into a contaminated "hot-zone" to assess the situation and make decisive command decisions. This critical training is required for all emergency management Airman in order to be world-wide deployable. After this initial certification, the Airmen need to attend annual refresher training to keep up with the high operations tempo of global deployments.
