4th Annual 914th Airlift Wing Chief's Group Chicken BBQ fundraiser

It's time to get your chicken on during the 4th Annual 914th Airlift Wing Chief's Group Chicken BBQ fundraiser. This year's BBQ is scheduled for reserve members on Saturday of the UTA June 5, 2010. Proceeds benefit The Chiefs' Group Scholarship Fund. Tickets for the BBQ are $8.00 and can be purchased from any Chief. The Annual 914th Airlift Wing Chief's Group is awarding two scholarships this year to winners of a 500 word essay contest.

The Niagara Chief's Group and Air Force Sergeants Association are awarding one $1000.00 and one $500.00 Scholarship to two individuals that submit a 500 word essay on "How have Air Force humanitarian missions changed from the Berlin Airlift to today"
These scholarships are open to the children of 914th members under the age of 21 (23 if enrolled in school) that are enrolled or plan on enrolling full time in an accredited college or university for the 2010-2011 school year. This essay should be single - spaced with double spacing between paragraphs and must not be more than 500 words excluding the heading. Essays over 500 words excluding the title will be disqualified.

Applicants should attach a separate sheet with the essay that includes the applicant's name, address, and phone number, student status, name of the college or university, and the level of the degree (Associate, Bachelors) being pursued by the individual. The applicant and the 914th member's sponsor signature should be included at the bottom of the sheet.

Essays need to be submitted to Family Support by 16 July 2010 and the scholarship winners will be announced during the Family Day event during the August UTA.
