“Military Saves Week” and Yellow Ribbon Post-Deployment Event Briefed by 914th Airman and Family Readiness Center

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y --  NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y.- The 914th Airman and Family Readiness staff, in conjunction with the Services Squadron, promoted "Military Saves Week" at the Dining Hall on Saturday 6 Feb 2010. When unit members filed in for lunch; Financial Wellness Assessment forms, along with Military Saves website (www.militarysaves.org) flyers, were given to Reservists. Not a Reservist got by Mr. Jim Germain, Director of Airman and Family Readiness without hearing what "Military Saves Week" was all about.

As they processed through the line they were met by Master Sgt. Marty Viggato, NCOIC, Airmen and Family Readiness who informed the airmen about the Niagara Falls Air Force Federal Credit Union and the services the on-base Credit Union provides to account holders. Many new members of the wing were not aware of all the free services the Credit Union offers.

Army Reservists from the 865th General Hospital Family Support Center, Niagara Falls, N.Y. were impressed with the outgoing support given to the 914th Airlift Wing. They took checklists, brochures and Yellow Ribbon flyers.
This outreach event raised awareness about military members saving money and being ready for a lengthy TDY or a deployment. The young airmen were very appreciative of the information they received.
Master Sgt. Savine Marshall, the Yellow Ribbon Coordinator, briefed unit members about our upcoming event on the 27th and 28th of February 2010. The festivities will include free bowling, free shuttle service to and from the Bowling Center, free breakfast and free lunch. One new feature is that there will be no PowerPoint briefings. There will be small group meetings to discuss any issues families might have, and exhibitors available to discuss individual questions one-on-one. All members deployed over 90 days will be on manday orders.
In addition to events that took place this weekend, every Newcomers Flight will now be briefed on the importance of saving money throughout the year. Your Airman and Family Readiness staff is working for you every day, helping you to be Current, Qualified, and Ready to Fight!
