Mr. Jerry Slipko, 914th Services Marketing Director recently furthered his leadership skills by graduating from the 2009 Leadership Niagara class.

Leadership Niagara has been in existence for 25 years. Every year, a class of approximately 25 local business leaders consisting of; educators, chemical plant managers, bank and financial managers, small business owners, and military representatives graduate from the program. Class members meet once a month
and learn about the Greater Niagara County area. Topics that are discussed range from politics to agriculture. This year's program also included tours of the Niagara County Jail, Niagara Falls School system, the Niagara Falls International Airport and the Niagara Falls Air Base which also included an orientation flight on a C-130 aircraft.

Slipko was nominated to be the representative this year by Col. Swartzmiller and the past 914th commander, Col.Reinhard Schmidt.

The program is designed to give potential future local leaders an insight into small business and local government and how it all works. "The course focused on issues that small businesses face on a daily basis and leadership in the Niagara County area," said Slipko. He also added that networking and ideas are shared in this program and many of those ideas are implemented in one's current workplace.
