December Spotlight Performer

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. --  Congratulations to the December 2015 Spotlight performer Senior Airman Kylie Proefrock

How long have you served?
4 years in the Air Force Reserve, all spent at Niagara Falls ARS as a Medical Technician. My job is to provide basic patient and emergency care.

Have you ever deployed or gone TDY?
I've been to Ft. McCoy, Wisconsin twice for Patriot Warrior Exercise

What motivated you to join the Air Force?
My aunt and my uncle both retired from the Air Force

Did you choose this career field?
Yes. I was going to school for Physical Therapy and wanted to stay in the medical field.

Are you still in school?
Yes. I'm about to graduate from Kaplan University with a Bachelor's degree in Health Science.

What do you do in the civilian world?
I work full time at UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) Hamot Emergency Department as a medical technician.

What do you love most about your job in the Air Force?
I love that I get to help people and have experiences I would not have outside of the Air Force.

What are your long term goals?
I want to commission because I want to go for my Masters in Healthcare Administration.
