August Spotlight Performer

The 914th Airlift Wing Spotlight Performer for August 2015 is Senior Airman Kristin Wood, 30th Aerial Port Squadron, Air Transportation Specialist.

What does your job entail?
Aircraft loading, special handling, HAZMAT inspections, joint inspections, signature services (human remains, blood, medical supplies).

How long have you been in the Air Force Reserve?
4 years.

Have you served anywhere else?
We go to Fort Drum roughly 2 times per year for 3-4 days at a time, and I just returned from a 5 month deployment to Kandahar.

What motivated you to join the Air Force?
I wanted to do something that was important and would make a difference in the world.

What do you like/find rewarding about your job?
Seeing the difference my job makes. We send a lot of supplies to people in need.

What are your Air Force goals?
I want to stay in for 20 years and retire. I'd like to go on more deployments. The more places you go and people you meet changes your perception/outlook on life.

What are your hobbies?
Running, working on cars.

Senior Airman Wood will attend college in the fall and plans to obtain an associates in criminal justice and a bachelors in psychology.
