Are you married?
I am getting married in August of 2016.

What motivated you to join the Air Force Reserve?
The benefits, honestly. The GI Bill and a chance to travel. I'm the first one in my family to join the military. Everyone was very supportive and encouraged him to join the Air Force because they knew I would receive a valuable skill that had the potential to be used in future endeavors.

How long have you been in?
Just under 10 years. I came over (to the 914th Logistics Readiness Squadron) last year from (the 914th Communications Squadron) where I was for 8 years. The tasks in Comm are customer-service oriented where as in LRS there is an aspect of physical labor, which I enjoy.

What are your job duties/responsibilities?
Supply and materials management.  The Maintenance Supply Liaison will contact our office and we locate the supplies (that they need) and bring it to them, whether it's on the flight line or in the shops.

What do you like/ find rewarding about the job?
The camaraderie and the work, hands-on stuff. It's satisfying.
There's also the opportunity for career progression.

What are your AF goals?
I'd like to do 20 years and get my CCAF degree. I also have the potential to make Chief.

What do you enjoy in your free time?
I do a lot of backpacking and camping and I'm learning how to play hockey. The only introductory hockey class available was with 14 year olds, so I'm learning to play with much younger people.

Have you been deployed?
I have been deployed; once to Iraq, in 2008. Our unit is scheduled to deploy again sometime in the future.  I'm looking forward to more learning experiences.

What advice do you have for junior enlisted personnel:
Find a mentor and learn as much as you can from them.
Don't be afraid to make mistakes.
