Air Force father pins rank to Army son

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. --  On December 3, 2014, Air Force Reserve Senior Master Sgt. Volker Kiefer, 914th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, received the honor and privilege of pinning on the Non-Commissioned Officer rank of Sergeant to his son, U.S. Army Sgt. Andrew Kiefer, HHC Special Troop Battalion, at Fort Drum N.Y.

"I have to say, it is one of the coolest things I have done and one of my proudest moments," said Senior Master Sgt. Kiefer.

Senior Master Sgt. Kiefer has 22 years of service, active and reserve, with the Air Force.  Sgt. Andrew Kiefer has eight years of active Army and Guard service.
