Getting to know ARCNet

The Air Reserve Component Network (ARCNet), formerly known as ReserveNet, is a web-based tool that provides reservists and guardsman with the ability to manage participation, request duties, and monitor training requirements and personal readiness.  It is a one-stop site for duty planning and scheduling, tracking readiness and self-inspection training, and budget management. Moreover, for traditional reservists with limited access to on-base computers, ARCNet is accessible from a member's home computer using a Common Access Card (CAC) reader.  No special programming, plug-in, or software is required.

ARCNet replaces manual requests for orders and/or inactive duty, such as Unit Training Assembly (UTA) reschedules.  When requests are submitted through ARCNet, they are routed to the duty approving official and the orders processor for appropriate action, significantly reducing processing time.  Approvals can be stored electronically, thus eliminating the need to print paper copies.

Members can log into ARCNet and easily view their personal readiness status.  The system will display readiness-training courses with currency dates via a user-friendly graphical format.  Members will be able to download or go directly to the subject websites to complete most training modules.

Also, ARCNet enhances the supervisors' ability to manage his/her unit. Through the "Supervisor Dashboard", supervisors will have ready access to member readiness status and pending duty requests. Supervisors can better project funding needs through the use of the budget allocation feature.

Col. Steven Parker 914th Airlift Wing Commander summed it up by saying, "The 914th Airlift Wing is incorporating ARCNet into our daily use to more easily track individual readiness, maintain visibility on participation to match our mission requirements, and simplify the management of our resources.  We provided training for our supervisors and resource advisors and will continue to educate everyone on its capabilities and ease of use.  I'm getting feedback that ARCNet is generating a lot of excitement. "

New users should log into ARCNet via the Air Force Portal and answer the member profile questions to establish an account. Guides, tutorials, videos, and downloadable Portable Document Format (PDF) files are available on the site to assist in set-up and program use. For additional assistance, contact your local unit ARCNet administrators.

ARCNet moves the 914 Airlift Wing into the electronic data management age. It is anticipated to have greater visibility of member status as well as significantly improve administrative efficiency.  All 914 AW units are expected to be functional with ARCNet by January 2015.
