Lt. Col. Joseph D. Janik (right) assumes command of the 914th Operations Group at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, Oct. 4, 2014. Prior to commanding the 914th Operations Group, Janik served around the world as an enlisted Airman and commissioned officer in numerous duties. He previously served at NFARS in 1992 with the 328th Airlift Squadron as a C-130 Flight Engineer. After commissioning, he served here in various capacities as a C-130 pilot and as chief of standards and evaluations. NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION -- Lt. Col. Joseph D. Janik (Rght) assumed command of the 914th Operations Group here, on Oct. 4, 2014.

Prior to commanding the 914th Operations Group, Janik served around the world as an enlisted Airman and commissioned officer in numerous duties.

He previously served at NFARS in 1992 with the 328th Airlift Squadron as a C-130 Flight Engineer.

After earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo, he was commissioned at Officer Training School in 1996.

He returned to NFARS after graduating from Undergraduate Pilot Training in 1998, flying the C-130 with the 328th AS, eventually working as the chief of the Standardization and Evaluation section.

His last duty station was the 913th Airlift Group at Little Rock AFB, AR as the 327th Airlift Squadron Commander.
