914th LRS member participates in 9/11 tribute

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. --       More than 75 members of the community, including Staff Sgt. Robert Browngriffin, a Mission Support Liaison from the 914th Logistics Readiness Squadron, participated in a tribute to the events of 9/11 at Delaware Park in Buffalo, N.Y. on Sept. 11, 2014.

     The Buffalo, New York Chapter of Team RWB held their 2nd annual 9/11 Dawn to Dusk Moving Tribute, where runners and walkers kept one American Flag and one Flag of Honor continuously moving around the Delaware Park loop from sunrise to sunset.

     "It's amazing that we've turned a negative impact on our country into a positive, uplifting experience," said Browngriffin, the Community Running Director for Team RWB Buffalo. "By being able to gather and remember and celebrate the lives that were lost--whether you knew them or not."

     During the day-long tribute, Browngriffin ran 40 miles and helped raise more than $1,800 for Team RWB, a nonprofit organization located throughout the country. Team RWB's mission is to enrich the lives of America's veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.

     "All over the country chapters are doing something today," said Maj. Chris Francese, Chapter Captain for Team RWB Buffalo and Chief of Dental Services for the 910th Medical Squadron, Youngstown-Warren Air Reserve Station. "Some are doing a 5K or a cross fit workout. Others are doing volunteer work--just something to commemorate the day, remember the lives that were lost that day and those that have been lost in Iraq and Afghanistan as a result of 9/11."
