914th Airlift Wing welcomes new Command Chief

Chief Master Sergeant Kenneth Eason assumed responsibility as Command Chief of the 914th Airlift Wing in a ceremony held here, on  Aug. 6, 2016.

Eason enlisted in the Air Force 31 March 1998, graduating from Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas and Fire Technical School at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas both as an Honor Graduate.

Chief Eason excelled as a Firefighter in the 914th Civil Engineering Squadron and was soon appointed as Assistant Chief of Operation before deciding to apply for a First Sergeant position.

He was chosen to join the First Sergeant Cadre facilitating mission requirements of over 100 Air Reserve Technicians, Traditional Reservists and civilians for the Force Support Squadron Commander, Mission Support Group Commander and Air Wing Commanders simultaneously.

After his 3 year tour as a First Sergeant, Chief Eason returned to his roots in Civil Engineering and was selected to the Deputy Chief of Fire position. He served in that position for one year before being recruited by Logistic Readiness Squadron Commander challenging him to be the Materiel Management Superintendent. Eason most recently served as the Logistic Readiness Squadron Superintendent.

Chief Eason has volunteered to serve on several deployments in support of Deployed Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom earning an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
