NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. -- The 914th Airlift Wing was recently awarded the Lieutenant General James E. Sherrard III award for the most Outstanding Air Force Reserve Command Reserve Wing 2016 by the Airlift/Tanker Association.
This award recognizes individuals and organizations that have demonstrated superior leadership, made outstanding contributions to the airlift and tanker mission and provided invaluable service to their civilian communities.
“I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this outstanding wing!” said Col. Brian Bowman, 914 AW commander.
Accomplishments of the wing included: Flying in Operation Swift Response and Coronet Oak, the award-winning 2015 Thunder of Niagara Air Show, and hundreds of deployments for the year. Additionally, members of the 914th Logistics Readiness Squadron were prominently featured in the awards package.
“Our members worked extremely hard the past 12 months and have showcased their skills across the globe,” said Bowman. “This award is another display of their incredible accomplishments.”
The Airlift/Tanker Association is an organization dedicated to ensuring that American military forces continue to have the air mobility capability required to implement U.S. national security strategy.
