NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. -- Local employers received the Patriot Award at a commander's luncheon and ceremony here November 12, 2009. Mr. Dennis Dragich, Niagara County Community College, receives the Patriot Award from Mr. Fred Dentinger, Western New York Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), and Col. Allan Swartzmiller, 914th Airlift Wing commander. Air Force Reservists or members of their families may nominate employers for recognition for their exceptional support of employees who are Air Force Reservists. Nominations were submitted to the ESGR, and ESGR's local committee selected the awardees. In honor of Women's History Month Capt. Nikki Slaughter-Smith, 328th Combat and Operational Stress Control, Army Reserve, was recognized along with several other prominent women during a special ceremony at the Buffalo N.Y. Veterans Court March 28, 2017. She was recognized for her outstanding leadership and dedicated service to our country and our courts as a part-time Soldier, full-time Citizen Airman social worker with the 914th Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve, and volunteer Veterans Court Mentor.
