In honor of Women's History Month Capt. Nikki Slaughter-Smith, 328th Combat and Operational Stress Control, Army Reserve, was recognized along with several other prominent women during a special ceremony at the Buffalo N.Y. Veterans Court March 28, 2017. She was recognized for her outstanding leadership and dedicated service to our country and our courts as a part-time Soldier, full-time Citizen Airman social worker with the 914th Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve, and volunteer Veterans Court Mentor. As the 914th Airlift Wing continues the transition to its new mission as an Air Refueling Wing, the first group of veteran aircrew members to train at Altus AFB Oklahoma on the KC-135 airframe will graduate and begin returning home in February. Tech. Sgt. Aleksander Wojciechowicz received the Air Force Reserve Command 2016 Outstanding Security Forces Flight-Level NCO Award. This is an annual award given to recognize individual achievement and performance.
Senior Airman Samantha Negron of the 914th Security Forces Squadron received the Air Force Reserve Command 2016 Airman First Class Elizabeth Jacobson Award. The award recognizes Negron's expeditionary excellence.
