COLONEL VICTOR D. BROWN

Colonel Victor D. Brown assumes command of the 914th Aeromedical Staging Squadron today.  His previous assignment was the Chief of Dental Services at the 914th ASTS, Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. Col Brown has led the 914th ASTS Dental Services providing annual dental exams, readiness classifications, record management, and proper dental administration for members of the 914th Airlift Wing.  Col Brown entered into the Air Force Reserve by direct commission in 2001. In 2004 Col Brown served on MEDRETE Trans-Sahel, Niamey, Niger with the team’s mission of providing medical care for a newly created Host Nation Rapid Reaction Anti-Terrorist Force that was being trained by the US Marines. In 2006 Col Brown deployed to Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan and served as OIC of the medical team at Bagram-Theatre Internment Facility. In 2007 he served on MEDRETE El Salvador providing dental treatment in four remote villages alongside Host Nation medical/dental corp.                                                                                                   

Col Brown’s civilian dental practice is in Coudersport, Pennsylvania and has been recognized by Donated Dental Services charity for several years of participation.   As a civilian dentist he is a Reserve Health Readiness Program provider with the mission of preparing local members of US Armed Forces with dental needs for deployment. He has participated on 26 annual two-week medical/oral surgery humanitarian trips to the rural mountain regions of southwest Haiti and has received humanitarian citations from two former Pennsylvania US Senators for these efforts. He is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Dental Associations and a past member of the Pennsylvania Dental Association Forensic Identification team. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, dedicated to life-long learning for the dental professional. He serves as a member of the advisory boards of Potter County Human Services and First Citizens Community Bank of Mansfield, Pa. Col Brown is married to Linda, his wife of thirty-nine years.  They have three grown children, four grandchildren, and live in Coudersport, PA.
