EPRs are an integral part of force development which assists personnel managers in identifying the best qualified enlisted personnel.  For SNCOs, a strong emphasis is placed on EPRs in determining nominative job positions, Stripes for exceptional Performers II (STEP II) promotions, career development vectors and advanced leadership educational opportunities.

The Senior rater endorsement (stratification) is a valuable tool in identifying those high-potential SNCOs who have clearly demonstrated that they are poised for greater responsibility through superior job performance and continuous self-improvement.

As SNCOs continue to develop and progress up through the final ranks, competition is extremely intense.  To have that competitive edge, every opportunity needs to be seized to enable the SNCO the ability to compete.

In a recent document “Developing Enlisted Leaders for Tomorrow’s Wars,” released by Ramón “CZ” Colón-López, SEAC #4 states, “In order to set our people up for success, we must educate them on the desired outcome of their actions and attributes necessary for mission accomplishment.”

As the Command Chief for the 914 ARW, I would be remiss in my duties if I didn’t ensure that every enlisted Airmen understands the importance of having the Senior rater endorsement (stratification).
