Members of the 914th Air Refueling Wing, base leadership, and distinguished visitors gathered, here, in honor of the new base fitness center ground-breaking ceremony Nov. 13.

The current mid-century fitness building will be replaced with a modern facility that is designed to meet the fitness needs of today’s Airmen.

Amenities in the new facility will include; a gymnasium large enough to accommodate multiple activities, a unit physical training room designed to strengthen bonds through unit training, and a functional strength room to meet the needs of tomorrow’s Air Force fitness test.

“Functional strength is the future of fitness and fitness is readiness,” said 2nd Lt. Lucas Morrow, 914th ARW Public Affairs Officer.

This $11.3 million facility is scheduled to be completed in fall of 2021.
