Niagara wins Employer Recognition Award

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. --  The 914th Airlift Wing was awarded an Employer Recognition award from NYSARC, October 17, 2014.

Each year NYSARC, Inc. chapters are encouraged to recognize an individual, corporation or business in New York State that has demonstrated outstanding support in providing job opportunities for people who have intellectual and other developmental disabilities.

"Individuals with disabilities have historically contributed to the advancement of this great nation and will continue to contribute with reasonable accommodations and equal opportunity," said Murray L. Taylor, Managing Contract Specialist for Custodial Services, 914 AW.

The base employs 15 individuals with disabilities, which comprise more than 88 percent of the total contracted workforce.

NYSARC, Inc. is America's largest non-profit organization supporting people with intellectual disabilities and their families since 1949.
