Deciding what you want to be when you grow up can be a daunting task, but Staff Sgt. Cristopher Tharpe, USAF Enlisted Accessions Recruiter, hopes that he made that decision a little easier for Robert Hendrix, an Odyssey High School student.

Hendrix, a junior in the Greece N.Y. high school, spent a day exploring the many and diverse career opportunities offered by the U.S. Air Force while touring the Niagara Falls ARS.

With a goal to be a pararescueman, Hendrix toured a C-130 aircraft and interacted with several 914th Airlift Wing personnel getting first-hand knowledge on the many careers offered by the 914th and throughout the Air Force.

Impressed with his visit to NFARS Hendrix stated, "It was a good experience to look around and that a career in the Air Force is pretty cool and something to try and do."

Pilot is the first thing that comes to mind when people think about jobs in the Air Force, but there are many opportunities to choose from.

"Tours like this give students experiences to jobs they never would have known about," said Tharpe.

Additionally, the students talk to friends and share that knowledge opening the doors to friends and family as well, added Tharpe.
