Clearing the snow for the last time in 2012
Dan Wood, heavy equipment operator for Satellite Services Incorporated clears a parking lot of fresh fallen snow for the last time this year at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, N.Y. on December 31,2012 New Year's Eve. The snow is cleared by a unique method called "Slot Dozing". The plow operator creates a "slot" in the snow which keeps the snow from falling off the sides of the plow. The plow will make several passes with additional snow into the slot thus allowing more volume to be removed than the traditional method. (U.S. Air Force photo by Peter Borys)
