Niagara Falls ARS builds on new airpark with arrival of C-119
Sections of a C-119 “Flying Boxcar,” have started arriving August 7 at Niagara ARS. Niagara Falls had requested a C-119 Flying Boxcar several years ago for static display. The C-119 is being brought to Niagara from the 440th AW in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The 440th AW is one of many units included in the base closing list by BRAC. The C-119 is a memorial to the 440th crew lost flying over the Bermuda Triangle in 1965 and will be used to display the 914th aircraft history at Niagara.
