Legislators Christopher Green, Frank Todaro and James Malczewski, of the Erie County Legislature, visited Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, New York, on Feb. 10, 2023, to celebrate Valentines for Vets where they delivered Valentine's Day cards made by elementary school students within Erie County, New York, to service members stationed at the base.

This long-standing tradition helps lift the spirits of service members and reminds them that their community is thinking about them.

  • The cards came from 29 elementary schools across 13 towns within Erie County, New York.
  • The legislators were greeted by Col. Lara Morrison, 914th Air Refueling Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Scott Peters, 914th Air Refueling Wing command chief.
  • During their visit they toured the 914th Explosive Ordinance Disposal flight, the 107th Operations Group, and the indoor small arms firing range.

Some cards were flown in a KC-135 Stratotanker to be delivered to service members stationed overseas in a deployed location.
